A massive photographic archive of early 1980s youth culture in Amsterdam.
In Studio Paradiso, Max Natkiel documents visitors of the Paradiso venue—captured mostly during concerts—resulting in over 600 portraits. Shot within the club context, the images move through punks, skinheads, and a wide spectrum of subcultural identities tied to the period.
Direct and repetitive in structure, the book functions as an accumulation of faces, styles, and attitudes. There is no hierarchy—only sequence and presence.
